MXMole is built to provide fast, simple domain, DNS, and email-configuration diagnostics without requiring an account.
MXMole Chrome Extension
The MXMole Chrome Extension allows you to:
- Enter a domain manually and open an MXMole report for that domain.
- Use Check Current Site to inspect the hostname of the browser tab you are actively viewing.
When you use Check Current Site, the extension reads only the hostname of the active tab after you explicitly request the action. For example, if you are viewing https://www.example.com/page, MXMole uses example.com to open the corresponding domain report on mxmole.com.
The extension does not continuously monitor your browsing activity.
Information We Handle
The Chrome Extension may handle:
- The domain or hostname that you manually enter.
- The hostname of the active browser tab when you explicitly select Check Current Site.
MXMole does not use the extension to collect:
- Your browsing history.
- Page contents.
- Form data.
- Passwords or authentication information.
- Personal communications.
- Financial or payment information.
How We Use Domain Information
Domain and hostname information is used only to provide the MXMole domain, DNS, and email-configuration lookup requested by the user.
We do not sell browsing information.
We do not use browsing information for personalized advertising, retargeting, profiling, credit decisions, or unrelated marketing purposes.
Storage
The Chrome Extension does not maintain a history of websites you visit.
MXMole may cache completed domain lookup results so that commonly requested public DNS information can be returned efficiently. Cached lookup data relates to public domain/DNS configuration and is not maintained as a history of which user visited or requested a domain.
Website Requests
When the extension opens mxmole.com, our web infrastructure may receive standard technical information associated with an HTTPS request, such as an IP address, browser user agent, timestamp, and requested URL. Such information may be used for security, abuse prevention, reliability, and normal web-server operations.
Advertising
MXMole may display advertising on the MXMole website.
Domain or hostname information obtained through the Chrome Extension is not used to create advertising profiles or to provide personalized, retargeted, or interest-based advertising.
Third-party advertising providers are not permitted to use Chrome Extension browsing data for advertising purposes.
Data Sharing
MXMole does not sell Chrome Extension user data.
Information is shared only when necessary to operate the requested MXMole service, maintain security and reliability, comply with applicable law, or otherwise as permitted by the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy.
Security
MXMole uses HTTPS for communications between the browser and mxmole.com.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
MXMole's use of information received through Chrome Extension permissions complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Information obtained through Chrome permissions is used only to provide or improve the user-facing functionality of MXMole and is not used for personalized advertising or unrelated purposes.
Changes
This policy may be updated as MXMole evolves. Material changes to how the Chrome Extension handles user data will be reflected on this page.
